It could be the flip side of a love or adventure story, but it’s even more exciting than that, because that’s how it all began.
When I was young, my parents got into the habit of giving me THE famous chocolate Advent calendar, a little treat to share together, a family tradition that I carried on once I left home.
Often at the last minute, I admit, but always in time to open my first box on 1 December.
And then one day, I discovered that there are other Advent calendars besides the chocolate ones. Beauty! But not only beauty! Toys! Candles! Tea! This discovery fascinated me and I surprised everyone around me with these revelations. It was something new for everyone, which no-one had really heard of, but where everyone found themselves in a calendar more suited to their tastes, and better still, made them want to treat themselves to one.
Then came the turning point in the story: ‘And if I shared the Advent calendars I discovered’ – www.adventcalendar.co.uk was born.
100..150.. 200.. 250… year after year I marvel at the new Advent calendars and the new brands that appear. Now, more than a project, it’s a passion that drives me.
A vocation whose soul hasn’t changed, on the contrary, it’s part of a wider desire; an ambition driven by feeling and experience: JOY. SHARING. DISCOVERY
My motto? That Advent should be a unique time when everyone has the chance to discover a surprise in their Advent calendar that suits them and gives them a unique pleasure.
