John Lewis Wine Advent Calendar
£100.00
The John Lewis Wine Advent Calendar 2026 pours 24 single-serve bottles, 187ml each: 11 whites, 10 reds and 3 rosés from twelve different labels, so no two days taste the same. Familiar names like McGuigan Black Label Shiraz and Orario Pinot Grigio sit next to a Hacienda Calidad Malbec and a Wildwood Zinfandel Blush rosé. No glassware, no booklet, just the wine, each 187ml bottle a generous single glass. It’s an adults-only (18+) countdown for the wine lover who wants to taste widely without opening full bottles they might not finish.
John Lewis Wine Advent Calendar 2026: 24 mini bottles across red, white and rosé
The John Lewis Wine Advent Calendar 2026 lines up 24 single-serve bottles, 187ml each, one behind every door from 1 to 24 December. The split leans white: 11 whites, 10 reds and 3 rosés, drawn from twelve different labels rather than one house padding out the box. Grapes run from Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay through Merlot, Shiraz, Malbec and a Puglian Negroamaro, so no two days have to taste alike.
This is an adults-only (18+) countdown built for people who’d rather taste widely than drink deep. Each 187ml bottle is a generous single glass, enough to judge a wine without opening a full bottle you may not finish. It’s a daily tasting tour, not a cellar in a box.
What’s in the John Lewis Wine Advent Calendar 2026
Behind the 24 doors sit 24 miniatures and nothing else: no glassware, no booklet, no filler. The headline is breadth. Twelve distinct labels appear, among them McGuigan Black Label, Founders Stone and Waters Edge, alongside newer names like Wallflower, The Copper Crew and Tierra del Rey. The whites carry the day with eleven bottles, the reds follow with ten, and three rosés round it off, including a Wildwood Zinfandel Blush.
What matters here is the absence of repeats dressed up as variety. A handful of grapes recur (two or three Merlots, a few Pinot Grigios), but they come from different producers, so the glass changes even when the grape doesn’t. For anyone using December to work out what they actually like, that’s the point.
What the contents are worth
John Lewis doesn’t publish a stated value for this box, and I won’t invent one. What I can do is the arithmetic that actually helps. At £100 for 24 bottles, each 187ml serve works out at £4.17. Pour the lot into standard 75cl bottles and you have close to six full bottles of wine, which is where the maths gets honest: six supermarket bottles rarely cost £100. You’re paying for the spread of twelve labels and the single-serve format, not for the litre price.

How the 2026 edition compares to last year
The format holds: 24 single-serve 187ml bottles at £100, same as the previous edition, same red-white-rosé mix. What’s changed is the line-up. Founders Stone, Waters Edge, McGuigan Black Label, Orario and the Hacienda Calidad Malbec stay on, so there’s continuity for anyone who bought it before. The reshuffle brings in Wallflower, The Copper Crew, Wildwood, Tierra del Rey, Dry River and Inspiral, while Alma Terramater, Altaria, Dos Condores, Yarra Creek, Freixenet, Pink Fox, Silver Creek, La Vieille Ferme and Nice Drinks drop out. Price and bottle count don’t move; roughly half the names do.
My verdict on the 2026 edition
What wins me over first is that the variety is real. Twelve labels, grapes from Fiano to Negroamaro to Zinfandel, and a white-heavy split that suits the way most people drink in December. The 187ml format is the smart part: enough to form an opinion, small enough that a wine you don’t love isn’t a wasted bottle.
Where it gives me pause is the litre price. These are everyday supermarket wines, and £100 buys you about six bottles’ worth of liquid. If value per millilitre is your measure, this won’t be the calendar for you. Pay instead for the discovery: as the John Lewis listing puts it, ‘a daily tasting tour through the world’s finest wine regions‘, and on breadth it delivers.
- Not for anyone chasing the lowest price per bottle, or wanting bigger pours.
- Spot on for a wine lover who wants to taste widely without committing to full bottles.

About John Lewis and its adult calendars
John Lewis has built its drinks calendars on the same instinct that runs through the shop: do the choosing for you, keep it reliable, charge a fair-but-not-cheap price. The wine box fits that exactly, a curated spread of twelve labels picked so you don’t have to, aimed at the taster rather than the bargain hunter.
It’s one of three adult countdowns from John Lewis that we cover, alongside a Fizz calendar and a Beer & Snack calendar. The wine edition is the one for people who treat December as a chance to drink around a bit, which is precisely who John Lewis built it for.
