Why Whittard Became the Heartbeat of British Tea Culture

Did you know Whittard’s story began not with tea, but with leather? Young Walter Whittard bravely left his family trade behind in Victorian London, enchanted by the scent and ceremony of fine tea. His tiny shop on Fleet Street soon found fame for daring blends and uncompromising quality;so much so he was invited to Mincing Lane, the historic hub for tea merchants. Today, each Whittard advent calendar echoes that spirit of exploration, where every surprise is steeped in tradition and delight, as if Walter himself were sharing his favourite discoveries with you.
Whittard captivates with a legacy of British tea artistry dating back to 1886. Every creation blends rich heritage, passion for quality, and ingenious flavours. Their unwavering commitment to sustainable sourcing and a flair for reinvention make Whittard a haven for those seeking refined moments and true gourmet pleasure.
