LEGO City Advent Calendar 60510 (2026): 252 pieces, Santa’s workshop play mat, 24 doors
The LEGO City Advent Calendar 60510 arrives for 2026 with a focused Santa’s workshop theme: behind 24 doors, 252 pieces and seven festive characters whose mini-builds actually belong in the same story. The box folds out into a Santa’s workshop play mat. The 2025 edition (60475) used the same fold-out format with a Christmas party scene; the 2026 edition re-themes it around the workshop. At age 5 and up, this is the least expensive of the five LEGO advent calendars released this season, and the most accessible for a child not yet committed to a franchise.
What’s inside the LEGO City Advent Calendar 60510
Santa and Mrs Claus anchor the cast alongside three elves (one carrying a gift list): those five are the minifigures. A top-hatted snowman and an exclusive baby reindeer figure bring the total to seven characters. The baby reindeer is confirmed as exclusive to this set.
Mini-builds cover vehicles and workshop props: a small red train, a sleigh, a rocking horse, a blue RC car, a yellow bulldozer/snowplough, a biplane and a helicopter, then a workbench with vice, a cart of gifts, a decorated Christmas tree with red baubles and a red mailbox. Accessories include hot chocolate mugs, a dove on a stand, a carrot and assorted wrapped gifts.
Building instructions are printed inside each window door, with no separate booklet to lose, so a 5-year-old can build independently every day.

Value: what £0.96 per door gets you
LEGO does not publish a content value for this set. What’s calculable is the per-door cost: £22.99 ÷ 24 = £0.96 per door, the lowest of the five LEGO advent calendars this season. The Marvel 76340 runs to £1.25 per door; the Star Wars 75456 is higher still. The fold-out play mat and the exclusive baby reindeer are included at that price, not extras.
What changed from 2025 to 2026
The 2025 City calendar (60475) contained 186 pieces. The 60510 steps that up to 252 pieces, a gain of 66 pieces at a comparable price, the most tangible upgrade year on year. The theme tightens from a general winter-city setting to the Santa’s workshop concept; the play mat re-themes accordingly from the 2025 party scene to the workshop floor.
- Piece count: 186 (2025) vs 252 (2026), +66 pieces
- Theme: general winter city / Christmas party (2025) vs Santa’s workshop (2026)
- Play mat: Christmas party scene (2025) re-themed as Santa’s workshop (2026), the format continues, the scene changes
- Price point: roughly maintained year on year at the LEGO City tier
My verdict on the LEGO City Advent Calendar 60510
For children aged 5 to 7 not yet invested in a franchise, this is the ideal first LEGO advent calendar: coherent theme, achievable builds, instructions you can’t lose, a play mat ready from day one. The workshop theme holds the character cast together better than the 2025 party scene did, and the 66 extra pieces at the same price is a concrete improvement. The baby reindeer (exclusive to this set) is the piece most likely to delight a collector.
The honest caveat is franchise pull. City has none. For an eight-year-old who has been building Mandalorian sets all year, a City snowplough is a harder sell regardless of how well it’s made. Older children already committed to Star Wars or Marvel are better served by their respective LEGO advent calendars this season.
‘At £22.99 for the most affordable LEGO advent calendar of the year, the 60510 is a well-judged entry point: the play mat adds genuine value, the Santa’s workshop theme holds together better than 2025, and the 66 extra pieces at the same price is a concrete improvement.’
- Who will love it: children aged 5 to 7 encountering LEGO advent calendars for the first time; younger builders who need instructions they can follow independently; families looking for a complete and self-contained Christmas countdown
- Who might not: older children already invested in a specific LEGO franchise (Star Wars, Marvel); collectors who prioritise licence exclusives over value per door
