Brown Thomas Advent Calendar
£323.90
The Brown Thomas Advent Calendar 2026 is a proper prestige box: 25 beauty products, 23 of them full size, weighted towards skincare with an unusually deep fragrance run this year. Expect La Mer’s night cream, Augustinus Bader and Le Labo Santal 33, with the most generous format a 150ml Kevin Murphy leave-in. Our UK count puts the contents at worth over £1,500. It is a serious gift for a skincare-and-scent obsessive, not a box for make-up lovers.
Brown Thomas Advent Calendar 2026: 25 beauty products, 23 of them full size
The Brown Thomas Advent Calendar 2026 holds 25 beauty products behind its doors, and the headline figure is the one that matters: 23 of the 25 are full size, not the usual half-and-half of samples and mystery filler. This is a luxury beauty advent calendar built around prestige skincare and, this year, a serious run of niche fragrance, with names like Augustinus Bader, La Mer, Le Labo and Sisley Paris on the door list.
It is a big box for a specific shopper. Brown Thomas has priced the contents at more than most people spend on beauty in a year, so the honest question is whether the value holds up. It largely does, and the fragrance choices are what set this edition apart.
Content and value
Across the 25 doors you get skincare (the bulk of the box), fragrance, haircare and a little make-up. Skincare leads with the likes of the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum and La Mer The Rejuvenating Night Cream, while the fragrance run is unusually strong: Le Labo Santal 33, Jo Malone London Lime Basil & Mandarin, Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman and more. The single most generous format is the Kevin Murphy UN.TANGLED leave-in at 150ml.
Brown Thomas states the total is worth over €1,800. Priced in sterling at UK RRPs, our own count lands at worth over £1,500, with a verifiable floor near £1,550. Divide the launch price by the 25 doors and each one works out at roughly £12.96, which is low for a box this stacked with full-size prestige. The full door-by-door list, with sizes, sits in the SPOILER tab.
✳️ My verdict on the 2026 edition
What convinces first is the full-size ratio. With 23 of 25 products in full size, this is not a calendar of 5ml teasers, and the skincare on its own (La Mer, Augustinus Bader, La Prairie, Sisley) would justify a good chunk of the outlay. Anyone building a proper prestige routine gets real mileage here.
Where I’d pause is the fragrance in small formats. The scents are the story of the year, but several land at 10ml to 15ml (Balmain Carbone at 10ml, Le Labo and Jo Malone at 15ml and 30ml), so the door count flatters a category that is lighter by volume than it looks on the brand list. The second caveat is simple: this is skincare-dependent. If you don’t want another night cream or eye serum, a large share of the box isn’t for you. As I’d put it, ‘the fragrance names sell the box, but the skincare is what you’re actually paying for’.
- Not for you if you already own a full prestige skincare shelf, or you want the fragrances in wearable sizes and not 10ml tasters.
- Worth it if you want to try La Mer, Augustinus Bader and La Prairie in one hit, with a run of niche scent thrown in.
Who is it for?
This is an advent calendar for women (and any fragrance-led man) with a real interest in prestige skincare, priced as a top-tier luxury buy, well beyond stocking-filler territory. It suits someone who wants to sample La Mer, Augustinus Bader and Le Labo without committing to a full bottle or jar of each, and it works as a serious festive gift for a beauty obsessive. Make-up fans, though, will find slim pickings: only a couple of doors go that way.
✳️ How the 2026 edition compares to last year
The jump is real. The previous edition was worth around £1,100 with 18 full-size products and a make-up-forward slant (Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, NARS, MAC), plus Kilian Paris, Balmain Beauty and a La Bougie candle. The 2026 box trades up on every count: value climbs to a stated over €1,800 (over £1,500 on our UK count), full-size rises to 23, and the whole selection pivots towards niche fragrance and prestige skincare.
Out go the make-up icons that carried last year; in come Le Labo, Ex Nihilo, Fragrance Du Bois and Fugazzi on the scent side, and La Mer’s night cream, Sisley and La Prairie on the skincare side. The candle and the palette-led feel of the old box are gone. If last year read as a beauty-hall grab bag, this one reads as a skincare-and-scent edit.
The spirit of Brown Thomas
Brown Thomas is Ireland’s best-known luxury department store, trading in Dublin since 1849, and its beauty hall is the reference point for prestige launches in the country. That buying reach is exactly what its advent calendar leans on.
Where a single brand’s calendar shows off one house, the Brown Thomas edit pulls from across the hall, which is how one box ends up holding La Mer, Augustinus Bader, Le Labo and Sisley together. The store’s fragrance focus this year explains the unusually deep niche scent run, the thing that sets the 2026 box apart.
