Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar
£200.00
The Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar fills 24 sliding drawers with one British treat a day: 13 sweet drawers (four biscuit lines, three fudges, three chocolate lines, three bags of sweets), five savoury (two seeded flatbreads, two cheese-biscuit lines, a jar of mixed nuts), plus two teas, two hot-chocolate stirrers, a Mini Cherry Loaf Cake and a jar of English Breakfast marmalade.
The signature biscuits-in-cartons and that marmalade jar are the standouts, and nothing repeats across the 24 days. It’s a premium foodie box for someone who’ll appreciate a proper Yorkshire-biscuit-tin spread rather than 24 everyday snacks.
Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar 2026: 24 drawers of British treats
The Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar 2026 is a 24 sliding-drawer wooden box that counts down to Christmas with one British treat a day, from biscuits and fudge to tea and hot chocolate. It’s a premium foodie calendar, priced at £200, and the illustrated box is built to sit out on a table rather than be torn open and binned.
Behind the 24 drawers sit 24 full products weighing 3,220g in total, roughly 134g a drawer. There’s a real spread here: sweet and savoury, hot drinks and jam, with no two drawers repeating the same thing.
The Cartwright & Butler story
Cartwright & Butler is a Yorkshire food brand known for tins, hampers and biscuits in tins, the sort of thing that turns up on a cheeseboard or as a host gift. Its name is built on traditional British baking and preserving, not novelty, which is exactly what this calendar leans on.
That heritage is the point of the box: rather than a single theme, it threads the range’s best-sellers across 24 days, so the calendar reads like a tour of the shelf instead of 24 versions of the same biscuit. More on the brand at Cartwright & Butler.
What’s inside the Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar?
Twenty-four products, one per drawer, and the sweet side does most of the work: four biscuit lines, three fudges, three chocolate lines and three bags of sweets. The savoury corner is smaller but genuine, with two seeded flatbreads, two cheese-biscuit lines and a jar of baked and salted mixed nuts.
The hot-drinks and preserve drawers round it off: two teas (English Breakfast and Classic Earl Grey), two hot-chocolate stirrers (milk and salted caramel), a jar of English Breakfast marmalade and a single Mini Cherry Loaf Cake. The signature biscuits-in-cartons and the two jars are the most giftable pieces in the box.
Is the Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar worth £200?
Cartwright & Butler does not disclose a contents value, so I won’t invent one. What I can do is the arithmetic the brand won’t: split the £200 across 24 drawers and you’re paying about £8.33 a drawer for 3,220g, near £6.21 per 100g. For single-wrapped cartons and small jars, that’s firmly luxury-tier pricing, well above a supermarket biscuit tin.
The spread is the mitigating factor. You’re not buying 24 biscuits; you’re buying biscuits, fudge, chocolates, sweets, two cheese snacks, nuts, marmalade, cake and four hot drinks, with no repeats. Whether that justifies £200 depends on how much you value the drawer-a-day ritual and the box itself.

How the 2026 edition compares to last year
This is the same type of box as before: a large illustrated wooden case with 24 sliding drawers, built around Cartwright & Butler’s best-sellers. The format hasn’t changed, and the 24-drawer count is the same.
What has moved is the line-up and the honesty of the count. The 2026 box lists 24 named products, where our previous entry muddled an 18-treat figure against 24 drawers, so a food lover now knows exactly what fills each day. The price sits at £200. A few sweeter novelties from older editions (a Christmas pudding, a mulled-wine mix) make way for more biscuits, sweets and the savoury-nut jar.
My verdict on the 2026 Cartwright & Butler Advent Calendar
What wins me over is the range. A lot of foodie calendars are 24 near-identical chocolates; this one genuinely moves you around the shelf, biscuit to fudge to flatbread to marmalade, and a cheese-lover gets just as much to look forward to as someone with a sweet tooth. The box earns its keep as an object, too.
Where it gives me pause is the maths. At £8.33 a drawer with no contents value published, you’re paying for the ritual and the presentation as much as the food, and anyone who tots up the jars and cartons individually may feel the stretch. A gifter who wants a showpiece will shrug that off; a value-hunter won’t.
After weighing it up, my take is simple: ‘this is a present you give, not a treat you buy for a quiet Tuesday’. Buy it for someone who’ll appreciate the Yorkshire-biscuit-tin world, and it lands. Buy it to ration out 24 everyday snacks, and £200 will nag at you.
- Not for a value-hunter counting the cost of each carton against a supermarket tin.
- Spot-on for a gifter who wants a premium, no-repeats British spread with a box worth keeping.
