Everything about the brand
Sephora: five advent calendars, and which one is worth choosing
Sephora doesn't sell one advent calendar. As of 4 September 2026, its UK site lists five running side by side: an entry-level box, two mid-tier options, a flagship, and a smaller post-Christmas countdown. Prices run from £35.99 to £235, and every one of them is currently marked 'Available soon' while the 2026 editions load.
We've had a Sephora calendar in our photo archive since 2017, and a verified price on record since 2022. In that time, the cheapest line has barely moved; the most expensive one has climbed from £139 to £225. That gap, not any single price, is the more interesting story.
This page is about the brand and the story behind its advent calendars, not any single edition: for today's price and stock, each calendar has its own page with the full details.

The essentials in five points
Five lines live at once: Favorites, Collection, Collection Premium, Beauty and Favorites After, priced £35.99 to £235 as of 4 September 2026.
In our records since 2017, photographed most seasons since then, with prices confirmed from 2022.
£139 to £225: the top price has climbed by more than 60% since 2022, while the entry price has barely moved.
Sells out, then resells higher: in November 2024, the BBC reported the Favorites line reselling on eBay for up to £399 once its £199 stock ran out.
Who it suits: Collection for a first taster or stocking filler, Favorites for someone who already shops the brand seriously.

The Sephora advent calendar, at a glance
Every line Sephora currently runs, each with its own listing, price and stock status. Based on our records, Sephora usually opens its UK waitlist in September, ahead of a wider release, and that's also when the Favorites line tends to sell fastest.
Sephora's story, from a Limoges perfume shop to a UK high-street name
Founded

LVMH (since 1997)

Dominique Mandonnaud opened a self-service perfume shop in Limoges, in western France, in 1970. Letting customers pick up and try products themselves, instead of asking an assistant from behind a counter, was unusual for the time, and it became the store format the chain still uses today. He built it into a chain, and in 1997 sold the business to LVMH, which owns it today alongside Louis Vuitton, Dior and dozens of other names.
The own-brand Sephora Collection and the Beauty Insider loyalty scheme sit underneath a much bigger business: hundreds of other labels sold under one roof, from drugstore names to brands that don't usually share shelf space. The company says it doesn't test its own products on animals, though it doesn't require every brand it stocks to meet the same standard, which is one reason its advent calendars can carry both cruelty-free logos and brands that don't.
Data · the range
Five lines, five different reasons to buy one
As of 4 September 2026, its UK site carries five separate advent calendars, all marked 'Available soon'. Only one, Favorites, has a confirmed date so far: 7 September 2026.
Sephora's five UK advent calendars, prices as listed on 4 September 2026
A metal box built to be kept and reused; the 2025 UK edition ran 16 full-size items, 4 travel sizes and 4 accessories across 24 windows. Valued at £235.76.
A trend-led multi-brand mix, closer in spirit to Favorites than to Sephora's own-brand Collection, with names such as Nars, The Ordinary and Too Faced turning up inside. Valued at £831.
The one people queue for: a multi-brand box that ran to 41 products in 2025, 24 of them full-size, including Rare Beauty, Huda Beauty and MAC. Valued at £1,025 by Sephora itself.
A serious beauty fan, or a big-ticket gift
The value figures above are the ones our system holds for each listing; where we've been able to check them against Sephora's own marketing or independent coverage, as with Collection and Favorites, they match. Take them as the brand's own claim, not an independent recalculation: nobody has physically added up the contents of every line for this page.
Data · evolution over time
The top price has climbed from £139 to £225 since 2022
The entry price barely moved. The top one didn't.
Photographed since 2017, priced since 2022: our archive holds five autumns of verified UK prices, plus older packshots with no price attached.
The cheapest line has stayed close to home: £44.99 in 2022, £35.99 in 2024 and again in 2025.
The most expensive line has not: £139 in 2022, up to £225 by 2025, a rise of more than 60%.
The middle has shifted too: the number of lines live at once has ranged from four to five each autumn since 2022.
2026 not yet confirmed: as of 4 September 2026, all five lines are still marked 'Available soon'.
Our own archive photos tell part of the story. The earliest calendar we have on file, from 2017, is a pale pink fold-out shaped like a village, its windows cut straight into the card. By 2023, the format had become a stacked wall of individually numbered drawers under the name The Future Is Yours, disco balls and holographic finishes included. The most recent packshot we hold, from 2025, shows a bolder teal, pink and gold box. The packaging changes most years; what's stayed constant is the idea of several products behind numbered doors, at more than one price point.
Why the top price has moved more than the entry one is only partly guesswork. The clearest driver is size: UK coverage put the Favorites line at 36 products in 2023 and at 41, 24 of them full-size, in 2025, and a bigger box justifies a bigger number on the front. It's also not a coincidence that the climb runs alongside Sephora's UK retail expansion, from an online-only return in 2021 to eight shops by spring 2025: a brand opening physical stores has more reason to make its flagship calendar an event. Neither of these is proven beyond doubt, but they fit the pattern better than a simple price rise would.

Figures for 2022 to 2025 come from full exports of our own live database, taken each autumn. A separate note kept by the team in 2022 recorded £119 for one line, not identified in our records: a reminder that a season's median across several lines and a single line's price aren't the same measurement.

Reception
What reviewers and shoppers actually say
In one sentence
Reviewers rate the flagship's contents highly and are more lukewarm about the smaller lines' value; shoppers mostly complain about not being able to get hold of it at all.
The Independent's beauty desk has reviewed several of Sephora's UK lines on their own terms, as separate products, which is itself a sign of how differently they're pitched. Its verdict on the £89.99 Collection Premium calendar (24 products including 14 full sizes, valued at £235.76) was that it suits a teen looking for a mid-range calendar, not a top-tier countdown for the 20-and-older market. Its most recent look at the Favorites line, an exclusive first look published ahead of the 2026 launch, notes that the 2026 price was not yet confirmed at the time of writing (£225 in 2025), counts 41 products for 2026, 27 of them full-size, worth more than £1,000, and gives an early, largely positive verdict on the handful of 2026 items Sephora has revealed so far, including full-size Medik8 and Dr Sam's skincare.
The clearest sign of demand is what happens once a line sells out. In a November 2024 look at whether luxury beauty advent calendars are worth the money, the BBC pointed to Sephora's Favorites calendar, then sold at £199 and valued by the brand at £1,000, turning up on eBay for as much as £399 once official stock had gone. That's not a discount story, it's a scarcity one, and it's worth knowing before deciding how early to buy.
Data · against the field
Sephora against the high street: how four rivals compare
We track its calendars alongside four other beauty and skincare boxes in a similar price band, all sold in the UK: a pharmacy chain, a marketplace listing, and two mono-brand skincare names.
Six beauty advent calendars compared: price, contents and who each one suits
Prices and values shown are for the specific calendar named on each line, taken from our own catalogue. Where a rival brand runs several lines, we've picked the single calendar closest to Sephora in price to represent it, ignoring the rest of its range.
Multi-brand or mono-brand is the real fork here, more than price. Sephora, and the Amazon box, hand you dozens of labels you may or may not already use; Yves Rocher and the Body Shop hand you more of a brand you've presumably already decided you like. Boots sits in between: skincare-focused, but still spreading its box across several names instead of one. None of that shows up in a price column, and it matters more than the numbers do.

Where and when to buy the Sephora advent calendar at the best price
As of 4 September 2026, all five Sephora lines are marked 'Available soon' on our catalogue. Only Favorites carries a confirmed date so far, 7 September 2026; the other four don't yet show one.
We haven't come across a Sephora advent calendar discounted before launch in the records we hold. What we have seen, in November 2024, is closer to the opposite: a sold-out line reselling above its retail price on eBay. If a specific line matters to you, particularly Favorites, that points toward buying as soon as it goes live: our archive gives no reason to expect a reduction afterwards.
We track these listings directly on Sephora's own UK site, where all five calendars are sold.
What surprised me putting this page together is how little the entry price has moved while the top one has crept up. £35.99 to £49.99 has been the going rate for Sephora's cheapest line each autumn since 2022; the flagship has gone from £139 to £225 in the same stretch. This is a brand deciding its top box can carry a lot more than it used to, while leaving the entry ticket largely where it was.
The value claims are Sephora's own, and I'd treat the biggest ones with a bit of scepticism, the same way I would from any brand marking up a bundle. What I trust more is the outside evidence: The Independent going through the Favorites box product by product and finding most of it worth having, and the BBC noting that people were paying £399 on eBay for a calendar that had already sold out at £199. You don't get a resale market on something nobody wants.
My honest read: Collection is a fine first calendar or stocking filler and nothing more than that, at £54.99 I don't expect miracles and I don't get any. Favorites is the one that earns its price, if you can get hold of it before it sells out, which past years suggest is not a given. The two in the middle, Collection Premium and Beauty, are the ones I'd only buy if I already knew I liked what's inside, since neither has quite the reputation of the calendar either side of it.

Frequently asked questions
What people actually ask us about the Sephora advent calendar
When does the Sephora advent calendar usually go on sale?
As of 4 September 2026, only the Favorites line has a confirmed date in our system, 7 September 2026; the other four lines don't yet show one. In past years covered by UK press, Sephora's calendars have gone live in the second week of September, often to a waitlist before general sale, so a similar mid-September window looks likely for 2026, though we can't confirm it from our own records alone.
How much is the Sephora advent calendar?
Sephora runs five UK lines at once, and each is priced separately. As of 4 September 2026, our catalogue lists Sephora Favorites After at £35.99, Sephora Collection at £54.99, Sephora Collection Premium at £89.99, Sephora Beauty at £139 and Sephora Favorites at £235. None of these is confirmed as a 2026 price yet: all five lines are still marked 'Available soon' in our system, so treat today's figures as the starting point until the edition itself goes on sale.
What's inside the Sephora advent calendar in 2026?
As of 4 September 2026, none of the five 2026 editions has published contents in our system; every line is still marked 'Available soon'. The most recent contents we can confirm come from the 2025 Favorites edition: our own listing counts 41 products, 24 of them full-size, from brands including Rare Beauty, Huda Beauty and MAC. Until Sephora confirms the 2026 line-up, that's the closest guide we have.
