Twelve pieces, all wearable, no filler. What convinces first is that nothing here is a mini: you get twelve things you can actually put on, in a box worth keeping on a shelf afterwards. For someone who reaches for dainty pieces every day, there is plenty to layer and rotate here across December.

Where it gives me pause is the metal: this is plated fashion jewellery, so it will tarnish if you are careless with it, and you would not hand it down as an heirloom. Two of the silver pieces I could only price against their gold twin, with no exact match to lean on, so treat our £370 as a careful estimate, not a receipt. My take: this is the jewellery calendar to beat on affordability this year, and on the value it holds up. Our count of around £370 works out at a genuine 1.9 times the launch price, and you end up with twelve things to wear rather than twelve things to eat.
