Dior Exception Advent Calendar 2026: ‘La Malle des Rêves’, a numbered coiffeuse behind 24 drawers

The Dior Exception Advent Calendar 2026 is the House’s most extravagant countdown yet. Named ‘La Malle des Rêves’ (The Trunk of Dreams), it opens into a working coiffeuse, a dressing table with the charm of a doll’s house, staged around a gingerbread scene. At its centre sits a miniature of the Junon gown, from Dior’s Autumn-Winter 1949 ‘Mid-Century’ haute couture line, beside the iconic medallion chair, a theme that runs back to 30 Avenue Montaigne.

Add a mirror and the trunk becomes a real dressing table; behind its 24 drawers wait full-size fragrances, couture pieces and festive décor. This is a keepsake first and a calendar second, priced as one: 170 numbered trunks worldwide, roughly £271 a drawer.

Content and value of Dior Exception Advent Calendar

Behind the 24 drawers you’ll find full-size Dior creations, not samples: six 100ml eaux de parfum from La Collection Privée Christian Dior, four 80ml esprits de parfum, three hair perfumes, two 300ml Gris Dior bath and body pieces and the limited-edition Dior Délice scented candle (250g), its most generous single item. Around the fragrances sit couture extras: a silk twill Mitzah scarf, a pair of earrings, a houndstooth couture cap for the eau de parfum bottle, a travel spray, eight tree ornaments, a gilded star and an exclusive Dior snow globe made for this box alone.

Dior does not publish a total value. From current Dior UK pricing, the fragrances, body care and candle on their own sit at roughly £3,400, about half the launch price. The rest is the numbered trunk itself and the pieces that never go on sale separately, so this isn’t a calendar you buy for a content-to-price ratio.

✳️ What has changed in the 2026 edition versus last year

The line-up has been reshuffled. Dior Paradise joins the 100ml eaux de parfum as Ambre Nuit moves down to the esprit de parfum shelf; the esprits gain Jasmin des Anges and Ambre Nuit while the Oud Ispahan and Bois d’Argent esprits step out (Oud Ispahan stays on as a 100ml eau de parfum). Jasmin des Anges runs across three formats this year, as a 100ml eau de parfum, an 80ml esprit and a hair perfume. Hair perfumes drop from four to three (Gris Dior, Jasmin des Anges, Oud Rosewood).

Two new Gris Dior 300ml bath and body pieces, a lotion and a liquid soap, weren’t in the 2025 box at all. The old candle-plus-three-accessories set becomes the Dior Délice candle with just a wick trimmer and a snuffer, and last year’s two ornament sets are now eight individual ornaments plus the star. And the object itself goes further: 2025 leaned on the 30 Montaigne façade, where 2026 stages the full coiffeuse scene with the Junon gown and the medallion chair.

What convinces first is the honesty of the format: six 100ml bottles of La Collection Privée is a serious amount of real fragrance, and the two new 300ml Gris Dior pieces push it further into a lived-in Dior wardrobe than the previous edition managed.

Where it gives pause is the same place it did in 2025: the price and what actually justifies it. The measurable contents cover around half; the other half pays for exclusivity, the couture pieces and the object. The rarity is real, and it’s the year’s clearest change. ‘The 2025 edition ran to 120 numbered trunks; 2026 is capped at 170, and it still costs more per drawer than most people spend on a whole calendar.’

• Not for anyone weighing value for money: the numbers don’t stack up as a bargain, and they’re not meant to.
• For the Dior devotee who wants six full-size Collection Privée scents and a numbered keepsake in one gesture.
