The Guerlain Advent Calendar 2026 is called ‘The Jewellery Box’, a collaboration with the couturier Kévin Germanier. Midnight-blue velvet outside, colourful and sparkling inside, closed by a rhinestone clasp shaped like a G (the initial Guerlain and Germanier share), with a mirror behind the lid. Open every door and the drawers lift out, leaving a jewellery case you keep. At £560, it sits at the very top of the beauty calendar market.
Behind the 25 doors sit 25 iconic Guerlain creations: fragrance, skincare, makeup and candles, weighted heavily towards perfume. Seven of the doors are L’Art & La Matière Eaux de Parfum, the house’s most exclusive fragrance line. This is a calendar for someone who already knows Guerlain and wants to travel across the collection in one box, well beyond a first beauty advent.
The spirit of Guerlain
Guerlain has made perfume in Paris since 1828, and still leans on names it created generations ago: Shalimar dates to 1925, L’Heure Bleue to 1912. This calendar sets both classics beside the modern L’Art & La Matière line and the Abeille Royale skincare.
The Germanier tie-in is what makes the 2026 edition its own thing. The couturier is known for upcycled sequins and crystal, and that’s the register of the box: velvet, rhinestones, a case built to be reused as a jewellery box once it’s empty.
What’s inside the Guerlain Advent Calendar
Twenty-five creations across four families, and the split tells you what this box is really about. Eleven of the 25 doors are fragrance (95ml of perfume in total): seven L’Art & La Matière 10ml, two Aqua Allegoria Forte 7.5ml, plus Shalimar and L’Heure Bleue at 5ml each. Then five skincare, four makeup, four candles and one ceramic keepsake.
The important honesty here is format. The fragrances are discovery and travel sizes, the four Abeille Royale treatments are 15ml (the full jars are 50ml), and the candles are 35g minis. What’s genuinely full-size is the makeup: the Terracotta blush, the Noir G mascara and the two Rouge G lipsticks are the real products, not samples. So you’re buying a fragrance-led tour with a handful of keepable makeup pieces, and only four of the 25 doors hold a full-size product.

✳️ The 2026 edition compared to last year
The 2025 calendar, ‘Le Conte des Merveilles’, was a crimson-and-gold book-box designed by the paper artist Mélissandre Vidal, all theatrical storytelling. For 2026 the book becomes a velvet jewellery box and the storyteller becomes a couturier. Different object, different mood.
The fragrance line-up shifts too. 2025 ran six L’Art & La Matière minis; 2026 runs seven, and swaps La Petite Robe Noire for L’Heure Bleue. On skincare, 2025 paired Abeille Royale with Orchidée Impériale; 2026 keeps Abeille Royale only, so the top-tier skincare line has dropped out. New this year: the Terracotta blush, and the box that turns into a jewellery case.
My view on the Guerlain Advent Calendar 2026
What carries this calendar is the fragrance. Seven L’Art & La Matière Eaux de Parfum in one box is rare: it’s Guerlain’s most exclusive perfume line, and even in 10ml it’s the reason to buy. Add Shalimar and L’Heure Bleue and you’re smelling a hundred years of the house in a fortnight.
Where I’d pause is the format at this price. £560 is a lot for a box that is mostly discovery-size fragrance, 15ml skincare and 35g candle minis. The Rouge G case is a genuinely nice object, but the headline 25 is doing some work: as I read it, ‘you’re paying jewellery-box money for a perfume-discovery box that happens to keep its packaging’. The swing factor is the velvet case, which becomes real storage and softens the maths a cardboard calendar can’t. For a Guerlain devotee it lands; for a value hunter it won’t.
- Most of the 25 pieces are discovery or travel sizes, not full jars, which is a hard sell at £560 for anyone counting millilitres.
- Fans of the 2025 book-box may not warm to the switch to a velvet drawer case, and the top-tier Orchidée Impériale skincare has dropped out this year.
- For Guerlain lovers, the run of seven L’Art & La Matière fragrances plus Shalimar and L’Heure Bleue is close to unrepeatable value on the perfume side alone, in a case you keep.
