My verdict on the Makita Advent Calendar 2026
Here’s where I land: this calendar is honest, but it’s for a specific person. If you already own Makita tools and want another MAKPAC box in the stack, the case alone justifies a chunk of the price and the tools inside are the sort that always walk off. A tradesperson’s other half looking for a Christmas gift could do a lot worse. I’d happily give it to a DIYer I know.
Where it falls down is value if you’re coming in cold. At £75 to £100 of parts for £119.99, a generic 100-piece hand-tool set gives you more metal for less money, minus the badge and the case. And a few doors are pure merch: the sticky notes and the second key ring are goodies, not tools, however nicely they’re printed.
My summary: ‘this Makita 2026 calendar doesn’t pretend to kit out your whole workshop, it hands you the bits that always go missing’. That’s a fair promise, cleanly kept.
